Christina McDevitt is a certified Life, Life Purpose and Career Coach as well as a Certified and Licensed Heal Your Life Instructor.
I have had many successful home based businesses and careers. I have created telecommuting and job share positions within corporations, been a nationally published area rug designer and freelance commercial artist, owned and operated a mortgage brokering and loan processing business, had a petsitting / horse exercising business and created an e-commerce business writing baby and milestone biographies on original artwork. I have also been employed as an offsite Mortgage Loan Underwriter. All of these endeavors were based solely or partly from home. I typically like to have more than one career at a time. It keeps me interested and challenged.
I have always believed in pursuiing your dreams. There is a reason why we were given these dreams and insights into ourselves. If you don't express them, then you are telling The Universe (God, Higher Power or whatever term feels good to you) that it was a mistake to give them to you. The Universe smiles when you do what makes you happy and fulfilled.
Some of my earliest dreams were about horses and being an artist. I was horse crazy for as long as I can remember. That was an interesting passion since I lived in the City in an apartment! I also wanted to be an artist. I started oil painting when I was 9 years old. I had a lovely older lady that lived across the hall in my building that took me in after school and she taught me how to paint. Her name was Mrs. Carnes. I still remember everything about her because she was such an inspiration to me. I have my 1st oil painting hanging in my home. It is a reminder to me to pursue your dreams and talents.
When I was in high school, my guidance counselor asked what I wanted to do with my life and I said I wanted to be an artist and a horse trainer. She scoffed at me and told me to find a "real" career. What a terrible thing to do to someone! I was devastated. I floundered for a bit and eventually got into the mortgage business. Now that was a respectable career! But I never forgot my dream... So I went back to art school and got my degree. I became an Area Rug Designer and a Mortgage Broker (I have always had at least 2 careers). I also purchased 2 young horses and trained them and showed them. My dream became a reality! And I would like to thank my guidance counselor because it gave me the motivation to prove to myself that it could be done.
I also have a passion for holistic health and personal growth. I have studied and practiced The Law of Attraction, Aromatherapy, Holistic Health and Nutrition, Yoga, Meditation and Reiki.
I am also currently launching a business designing fun, functional and stylish yoga clothing for women in their fabulous 40s, 50s and 60s! The fun never ends!
